Our estate is situated in Schwabsburg, a village near Nierstein on the river Rhine in the state of Rheinland-Pfalz (Rhineland-Palatinate) in Germany.

The watch tower of a once famous castle built by Friedrich Barbarossa, a German King of the Middle Ages, is a landmark still standing  above the village. (There even exists a copperplate etching by the well known artist Matthäus Merian.)

From there you have a wonderful view of the village and the wine-growing area. Small roads, ideal for walking and biking, wind through the vineyards above and on the banks of the river Rhine.

You can take excursions to nearby little towns and cities like Oppenheim, Mainz, Wiesbaden, Worms, Darmstadt and Frankfurt/ Main, as well as cruises on the river Rhine where you will see many castles and the famous rock of the “Loreley”, a landscape now being part of the World´s Cultural Heritage of the UNESCO.

You may also explore the mountain regions around Donnersberg, Hunsrück, Taunus and Odenwald. In case you like golfing there is an 18- hole golf course nearby at an idyllic place.

There is a restaurant in our village and a variety of others as well as shops in the surroundings.
